The latest commemorative banknote from the collection in November

From 16 November 2020, you will have the opportunity to purchase the third release in our series of commemorative banknotes, this time featuring the motif of a wooden building block set designed by Ladislav Sutnar. The design of the banknote once again comes from the collection of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.

The commemorative banknote, featuring a motif of a building block set created by Ladislav Sutnar called “Build the Town”, is the result of close cooperation between the STÁTNÍ TISKÁRNA CENIN (State Printing Works for Securities – STC) and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. STC has prepared and printed the commemorative banknote according to a design by student Tuan Vuong Trong, who has used motifs of Czech applied art as a way of presenting national wealth. This particular commemorative note depicts a creation of well-known Czech graphic designer Ladislav Sutnar, who created the prototype of the building block set in 1942, after emigrating to New York.

The commemorative note will be available for purchase STC e-shop from 1 October 2020 on its own, or in a gift cover, in folders with a transparent (PVC) pocket for placing printed materials. Thanks to the use of high-quality graphical paper with a grammage of 300 g/m2 in the dark green Keaykolour Original Holly colour and intaglio printing technology, your purchased product will become an original and exceptional gift for your loved ones or business partners.
