More about the project:
“We are issuing the commemorative banknote featuring a portrait of Václav Havel to honour the first president of post-revolution Czechoslovakia on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his death. It combines a passion for crafts, arts and collecting, with the possibility of long-term investment”, says Vladimír Olmr, creator of the project.
The main motif on the obverse side of the banknote is a portrait of Václav Havel and the south wing of Prague Castle with the presidential balcony. The reverse side features a depiction of the Matthias Gate at Prague Castle and the sculptures of the Wrestling Titans. The banknote is printed on security paper with a linden leaf watermark with cotton fibre. Intaglio printing has been used for the portrait of Václav Havel, the text on the obverse side, and the Czech lion registration mark. UV light will reveal other motifs typical for Václav Havel on both the obverse and reverse sides.
The banknote is a limited edition issued in five series, A, B, C, D and E, with 500 sequentially numbered notes in each.
The STC e-shop will offer a total of 100 notes with serial numbers in the following sequences:
A01 000480 – A01 000500
