More about the project:
STC is issuing the set of commemorative banknotes in collaboration with Prague Zoo. The collection of three banknotes with symbolic values of 100, 500 and 1,000 Troy tolars marks the 90th anniversary of the foundation of Prague Zoo. On the obverse of the banknotes you will find some of the most popular animals, quite literally icons of Prague Zoo, Meloun the seal, Richard the gorilla and Gulab the elephant. The artwork was designed by sculptor Štěpán Kotrba.
We are sure that these original banknotes, which will be issued in a limited edition of 2,000 prints, will not only delight supporters of zoos and animal lovers, but also collectors, who will appreciate the original printed securities from STC which include some security features that can be found on current Czech banknotes.
By purchasing the collection, you will be contributing to a good cause. Part of the proceeds will be used to save endangered animal species in projects in situ. The purchased product will make an original and exceptional gift for your loved ones or business partners.
Detailed technical specifications:
The notes have been printed on security paper with the “linden leaf” watermark and two threads (one visible to the naked eye and one visible under UV light). The prints are double-sided and in full colour with an iris, including obverse and reverse colours that glow under UV light. Offset printing was used to add the designs, and the letterpress technique for the numbering. The 6-digit numbers in the sequences below are printed in black, and glow green under UV light:
Meloun the Seal 100 Troy tolars, LA 000001-002000
Richard the Gorilla 500 Troy tolars, GO 000001-002000
Gulab the Elephant 1,000 Troy tolars, SL 000001-002000
We are sorry, but it is not technically possible to order a specific numerical series.
The folders are made of high-quality 300 g/m² offset paper with a laminated matte finish to the upper part. You can place the commemorative notes safely into 3 convenient PVC sleeves.
