The commemorative banknote, featuring a motif of a building block set created by Ladislav Sutnar called “Build the Town”, is the result of close cooperation between the STÁTNÍ TISKÁRNA CENIN (State Printing Works for Securities – STC) and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. STC has prepared and printed the commemorative banknote according to a design by student Tuan Vuong Trong, who has used motifs of Czech applied art as a way of presenting national wealth. This particular commemorative note depicts a creation of well-known Czech graphic designer Ladislav Sutnar, who created the prototype of the building block set in 1942, after emigrating to New York.
The commemorative banknote with the motif of “Building block set” created is an outcome of the close cooperation of STÁTNÍ TISKÁRNA CENIN, státní podnik (STC), and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.
