The commemorative banknote with a portrait of the legend of Czech pop music, Václav Neckář, is issued by VDN Promo on the occasion of the singer’s 80^th birthday. Václav Neckář has been on the music scene since the early 1960s. During this time he has created countless unforgettable hits such as Stín katedrál, Mýdlový princ, Miluju a maluju, Půlnoční and hundreds more. He became a legend of Czech pop music. He teamed up with Marta Kubišová and Helena Vondráčková to form the legendary Golden Kids trio. Václav also became famous as an actor in the films Larks on a String and The Incredibly Sad Princess, and achieved international recognition starring in the lead role in the Oscar-winning Closely Watched Trains. A shot from the latter film has been used for the commemorative banknote, a portrait of Václav Neckář artistically rendered by Václav Fajt. The graphic design work is the creation of a State Printing Work of Securities team comprising Jana Skořepová and Lukáš Bárta. The commemorative banknote is subtitled I Love and I Draw, featuring hearts painted in Václav Neckář’s own hand. After Marta Kubišová, Václav Neckář is the second member of the Golden Kids trio to be recognised with a special commemorative banknote, issued on his 80^th birthday. The commemorative banknote is adjusted in a cover made of high quality graphic paper, in green colour Holly, 300 g/m².
